Is Greater Happiness Really Possible?

The Happiness Workbook

The quest for greater happiness is built into most people, and has been ever since humans no longer needed to spend 100% of their time just staying alive. Aristotle noted this over two-thousand years ago, when he said, “Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence.”

Think about it, at the foundation of everything you do, isn’t happiness what you’re seeking?

It’s important to recognize that you can be happier than you are now. You may have been told that happiness is fleeting or that people are either born happy or not, but those are myths. While it is true that the happiness you may feel from acquiring material possessions is temporary, the happiness that comes from within is not only longer lasting, but is largely within your control.

Researchers who apply scientific principles of study to human well-being (happiness) tell us that approximately 40% of our overall happiness potential is within our control. And it turns out that the things you can do to acquire and retain greater happiness are easily implemented without professional help and without expensive purchases.

Inside The Happiness Workbook

There are three main sections to this eBook.

The Questionnaire: The book begins with a brief questionnaire, enabling you to assess your life’s happiness in three important areas: Body, Emotions, Self-efficacy, Love and Friendships, Environment, and Safety/Security. With this information in hand, you can go to the section describing exercises, interventions, affirmations, and other resources that you can use to improve your happiness is a specific area or areas.

The Workbook: This is the main section addressing easily implemented ways you can become happier by following dozens of proven exercises and interventions within this main section. You can use this section to go directly to the area of life that you wish to improve, or you can simply follow the sequence of happiness-improving exercises and interventions as they occur in the book.

For example, there are ten exercises and interventions designed to improve your emotional state, along with a half-dozen affirmations to help you sustain more positive emotions. Strong relationships correlate with greater happiness; there are fourteen exercises and interventions to help improve your relationships, with five supporting affirmations.

Resources: The final section of The Happiness Workbook contains over twenty-five resources available to you for further study on becoming happier, including books, articles, and websites.
